Nice. I’m not sure I remember that one but it was done almost exactly like that.

Hearing “Love Will Keep Us Together” reminds me of my quad-speaker system set up in my bedroom in the basement of my parent’s house (about 20 miles from where I am right now).

1975, quad system set up, Captain and Tennille come on the radio. A couple of the speakers I made in 8th grade shop. Radio Shack speakers, cabinets made of particle board (bad choice) and veneer glued on (amateur). LOL

I think I still have those speakers after all of my moves and losses. Never did drill the holes for the screws for the back of the 2nd speaker. Don’t remember my grade, LOL.

Oh I know. When I can’t solve something I lay awake at night.

I could tell you about software design / debugging problems I solved in the men’s room at work. Or at home in bed, on the phone, on a weekend night......

I’m not saying it’s a good thing. LOL

It’s been so long I can’t remember. That could be it. Hmmm.

Been a LONG time since I saw a “Red Bird” label.

I am wondering if this is it.

The space alien theme seems familiar. Still listening to it.

You will understand how much I miss Radio Shack and Circuit City, I’m sure.

I cried when they closed for good.

Literally.

I spent the summer of 1980 installing the most awesome system ever put in a 73 AMC Gremlin,

:D

OMG.

Flashback to a cheap AM transistor radio in the backyard, batteries included.

Remember this song?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRqFzU4f48w

The Legend Of Boggy Creek was at the drive in and my dad took us to see it.

Scared the carp outta me.

:D

I would love to have a Gremlin with a 401.

Good thing I’m not a multi-multi millionaire.

I’d have 200 - 250 cars.

Well, maybe only 75-100. I AM reasonable...

Don’t remember that one. I remember hearing “D.O.A.” at my aunt and uncle’s house with my cousins. Good heavens - not a good song for us kids at the time.

We’d paint posters with paint and then turn on just the blacklights.

I repainted my Schwinn bicycle. Oops. It was one of the cool ones too - 5 speed shifter, banana seat.

I had a banana bike but only one speed, that i recall.
It was metal flake purple.
[no I did not pick the color...birthday present]

After years of abuse playing Evel Kneivel over homemade ramps and ditches with my male cousin, it was the worse for wear so i started painting it with whatever spray cans dad had on hand.

Usually camo green or hunter orange.

It was a mess.

:D

Wasn’t “D.O.A.” about a car wreck?
If so, I remember that nightmare inducing thing.

Got a black light for Christmas one year.
Spencer’s at the mall.

Bought paint and had all kinds of stuff on the ceiling and walls of my bedroom.

Space things, naturally but also little glowing animal tracks everywhere.

My mom didn’t know all that crazy stuff was there until years after I moved out.

Damn...I am CLEARLY culturally deprived. I’ve seen that “I’m not saying it’s aliens...” meme with his picture in it a thousand times or more on Free Republic and always assumed it was of some character from a comedic movie. I’ll have to check him out. Thanks for the link and the enlightenment.

*Crazy tale about the bike:

It was from either Sears or Western Auto, forget which, and needed assembled.

My dad put it together and it had hand brakes so I guess it did have gears, at one time.

But dad had never messed with a bike like that and he neglected to tighten the brake pads.

So, my maiden voyage was down the steep road beside my house, that intersected RT 40.

When I squeezed the hand brakes, I watched the little pads shoot out past me and then I looked up at RT 40, coming fast, with traffic.

Thank God for Keds and adrenaline strength.

However, the Keds were not totally effective so as soon as I got near a soft spot of grass, I jumped.

Got all skinned up and my dad was running and screaming to where I landed.

Somehow, he disabled the gears and hand brakes and it was a regular pedal brake bike after that.

I had some fun as a kid.

:)

Yes, it was a car wreck. That thing was just ... wrong.

(we totally hijacked this thread - oops)

I did a fluorescent orange, yellow, lime fade thing.

Oops. Metal-flake blue. Slick rear tire. Dad let me pick out the color I wanted.

The possible explanations for special counsel Muller's flip-flopping on this and many other issues reveal much about his personal leadership of the investigation and report:

1. He has no clear understanding of the matter as evidenced by his series of contradictory statements made to to Attorney General Barr, the world at large in his press conference, the joint letter released after his press conference, his statement to Rep. Ted Lieu and his final correction done during the afternoon session.

2. He was so befuddled under the questioning of Rep. Ted Lieu that he simply did not understand the import of the question or the import of his answer

3. He was manipulated during the break as Rep. Ted Lieu alleges to change his testimony

For the purposes of this point, take your pick. Every explanation tells us how easy it must have been for Andrew Weissman or any member of his staff to manipulate their titular but demented leader for the last 2 1/2 years.

Does this tell us why the sharp dossier was not investigated? Why Misfud what was not prosecuted? Why everything possibly anti-Trump was investigated and illuminated while virtually everything positive for Trump was utterly ignored? Does it tell us why Volume II reads as a propaganda diatribe rather than a legal document?

The Congressmen and Senators who blatantly lied about President Trump should be prosecuted for attempting to overthrow the American Government.
