I am convinced that the questions were rehearsed and any answer given by RM was ignored. It was all about getting the narrative into the Congressional Record and on tape for the press.
I watched about an hour over lunch break. I lost count of the number of times that a very leading question was asked, RM responded with something like “I wouldn’t characterize it that way.”, and then the questioning person proceeded with the next question as if RM had agreed with them. As I said, RM’s answers were of no importance.

In all probability, Mueller didn’t write the report; Weissman did.

So what the heck happened to all of the people saying for SURE that the Dems rehearsed all the answers beforehand, and that this is all a big set-up? I would say that no one expected the Republicans to tear into him as they did.
I like this Republican party much better than the one we had with W.

Did ANY Republican ask Mueller if he met with ANY Democrats leading up to this hearing and if they discussed anything pertaining to it? If not, why not?
To: Kaslin
That’s what I saw - the charade didn’t do anything good for Mueller or the “Thank you so much for your service to the country we hate you Reagan era hero, you!” Dems.
The Repubs asked enough of the right questions and made enough of the right statements to totally trash the Dems’ “This will make impeachment a sure thing” fest....

Don’t bet on it. The Dems are just regrouping. They’ll be back in The White House at some point and then the ball will open.

That’s what the Whig party thought.
When an issue divides the party, as anti slavery did the Whig party, history changes course.
In many ways, historical political patterns of the early to mid 1800’s are repeating with the current parties.
To: tired&retired
I would agree with you in part but there is a key difference between the early and mid 19th.century then there is today. Women did not have the right to vote then. Blacks were still slaves, Indian tribes and nations controlled parts of the American Southwest and parts of The United States were still under the control of the Spanish Empire. There was still a country to be settled then and new states were yet to be created. We're now, I believe , in the post-modern era and this new breed of Democrats have a new toy that didn't exist in 1861- socialism. The Democrats will get back into power. God help us when they do.
