Lesko and Buck should’ve been better prepared.
Buck has given the Libs the exact soundbite they wanted today, getting Mueller to answer “Yes” when asked by Buck if he could indict Pres. Trump for obstruction after he leaves office.
On Twitter, the liberals are using these 30 seconds as a salve for this 2-hour burn they are otherwise suffering.
I originally came to this thread to say I was disappointed by Buck. Wasted most of his time reading subsections of code.
This Ms. Jayapal is suggesting that because Trump didn’t want Manafort to “flip” that means it was obstruction.
My take is different. Didn’t see Buck, but Lesko kept hammering him with questions which I think were asked to get information out to people who haven’t heard any of the truth before. I think she did well.
Not that it will matter to the dims but "could" indict is not saying "would" indict.
Mueller is lying.
THE REASON HE WOULD NEVER INDICT IS BECAUSE...SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW AT THIS HEARING...
WELL, IT WOULD BE TWICE AS BAD IN A COURT OF LAW.
MUELLER WOULD NEVER SUBJECT HIMSELF TO THAT.
Lesko is my congresswoman. She needs to work on her presentation.
At that moment, I knew that would be the take-away moment for the left. Buck was trying to refer to the actual available evidence for a specific crime, but Mueller used the moment to respond in a general theoretical sense that a president could be charged after office. Buck blew it.
It really doesn't matter, because the concept of indicting Trump after office is likely 5.5 years away, and his world-class lawyers would get any such attempt kicked out of court in a week.
The entire concept is a concession on impeachment.
