The statement “there is no there, there” is why they cannot. Too many here fail to realize that THEY HAVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS during any impeachment proceeding.
They cannot hide behind a politically motivated document (part deux) and will have to answer as to what they DID NOT do during their investigation. We got a glimpse of what it would like today. No 5 minute limit. No hiding behind the 4 corners. Footnotes and all. Direct questions and direct answers under oath.
The BEST case scenario for DJT is that they impeach him. I have said this from the beginning and it was reinforced for me today. A real recitation of facts would be required - not a twisted and convoluted mess as presented by the special counsel report. This report is a mess and a legal dud not only in what it says, but more importantly in what it does not say and what they did not explore intentionally.
Sadly, it does NOT matter if there’s no there there.
Impeachment is 100% political.
Impeachment is 0% criminal.
