My worry is that our side gets any time at all, how much they will interrupt, and what limits will be put on our side about what we can ask and what we can't.

You assume that the GOP actually wants everything about the coup to come out. You and I may want this, but I sincerely doubt that "our side" (the Republican party) does. Remember, the GOP really did not want the Trump nomination or his victory in the general for that matter. There are many in the Senate and the House that had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to back the President and they will jump at any opportunity to abandon him.....and us.
