During and after WW-II the auto industry here in Detroit was going full bore and immigration was highly restrictive. The only way to get into the country was if you had family members here and an employer waiting for you.
Detroit became flooded with immigrants from Israel, Italy, Poland and other European nations affected by the war and the neighborhoods they immigrated to reflect that migration.
