How could he have grasped what he’d done? He was a selfish alcoholic, who only cared about himself, and his political career. A man with no conscience, and no values.

And now I realize he didn’t even wreck his own car, it was his mother’s. You would think a U.S. Senator’s salary would have been sufficient to buy his own car, even back in 1969!
