“Not without precedent - remember back when the Fed’s forced the national 55 MPH limit on the States by threatening to withhold highway funds if they didn’t?”

I got one of those ‘tickets’. Fifty miles west of Phoenix on I-10 in the middle of nowhere.

Spotter plane and five or so LEO vehicles and pulling people over faster than they could write the tickets.

Sure do, I also remember the gas crisis, luckily I was a college student on a 10 speed.

By the time I was out of school and need wheels I ran beaters which performed quite nicely at 55mph. So, whether the limit was 70 or 60... I was doing 55 by proxy.

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." They did it because they could - had nothing to do with right & wrong.

This generation has lost its moral compass - if it's legal, it must be okay. If it's illegal, it must be wrong.

Thank G-d for faith-based civil disobedience.
