Good. I hope he runs. He might prevent Weld from earning 1 delegate in Iowa.

FWI - the reason I say Iowa is because it is — I think — the only state that doesn’t have a minimum threshold (usually 10%) for earning delegates. Therefore, it is the only state where a loser like Weld might have a shot of winning a delegate. He would only need about 3% of the vote to earn 1.

They are just looking for various favorite-son Never Trumpers to try to pull a few votes away from him in their respective swing states.

I live in what used to be his district. When he was primaried out he made sure the democrat won. He is a POS.

I live here as well. You're 110% correct. When he lost the primary, he not only didn't support the Republican candidate, I read that he told his own biggest donors to contribute to her Democrat opponent. What a bitter sore loser he is.

He’ll be doing whistle-stop jet plane rallies in Argentina.

In my state, Illinois, the primary has a section for president and another section for delegates, who are mainly elected within each congressional district. IL has about 70 delegates. About 50 are elected, within each congressional district. About 20, who are awarded to the statewide winner, are elected during the state convention, which is held about three months after the primary. It’s possible for a presidential candidate to get 1% of the primary vote and have a few of his delegate candidates win.

I guess that would depend upon the nature of your state convention attendees. Do they tend to be more RINO in Illinois? If so, then theoretically I suppose a Weld or a Sanford could steal one. Although I fully expect any and all RINO challengers to Trump to have dropped out before Super Tuesday.

I think that about 1/3 of the state convention attendees are RINO’s, but all of the at-large delegates, who are elected at the convention, must attend the national convention to vote for whoever wins the most votes, in the primary. A Sanford or Weld supporter could be elected delegate, during the primary.
