Nearly 1-in-4 foreign-born immigrants in the United States are here illegally, according to an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.

An estimated 10.5 million are “unauthorized immigrants,” said the analysis from Pew Research Center.

I would be surprised if any other nation on earth - civilized or uncivilized- would put up with this type of national abuse...

..And I'm willing to bet that the numbers cited in the article are on the politically correct LOW side

An estimated 10.5 million are “unauthorized immigrants,”

That number hasn’t been updated since, what, the 1990s?

If there are the about 32million that are suspected, that means about half.

Almost certainly.

Yes, vastly “underestimated”... almost certainly intentionally.

No in the legal books it says “illegal”......,
and not “unauthorized”.

That is B.S. lingo by the Pew to distort illegal activity.

I wonder if you could make a killing on the stock market by shorting WalMart stock then erecting signs on the roads leading to each store that said

ICE Enforcement Operation Underway in This Area

Maybe put a notice up on WAZE or other traffic aid apps???

If you go and dig around the data, the states of New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Illinois, and California are the ones with the higher percentage of illegals.

At the low end are the New England states, Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, and West Virginia.

If the Census question had been on there, and the subtraction had taken place....those seven states would have lost one to three representatives each. With the Trump modification...it’ll still happen but the math formula will lead to another court challenge.

My humble guess is that the Census will be one of the top three topics of the 2020 campaign and the Democrats will lose voters because of their stance. It would be amusing to see California to lose three districts just because of the illegals, and another one or two because of legal citizens leaving the state.

That is both true and telling:

Square up the census data, and the country gets back to a more even keel. We’ve had enough of a few urban centers causing grief for the rest of us.

But can it be squared up peacefully???
(I kinda sorta don’t think so)

They committed a crime when they crossed over the border or overstayed their visa

Because the libs don’t like calling people “illegals”, let’s simply call them by the correct term: ‘criminal’ or ‘alleged criminal’ aliens

If we get four additional years of Trump (which I think is more than likely)...the loss in 2020 at both the Presidential level and House/Senate levels...will leave a fair number of the centralist/moderate Democrats shaking their heads because they know who really screwed up over the 2016-to-2020 period, and blame will go to the far-left of the Democratic Party.

It is entirely possible that some Democrats will suggest to reform, creating a second entire party...more moderate in scale, and weaken the system even more.

Once you get to 2024, and Dan Crenshaw is the lead for nomination (I rate him as the more obvious one in that primary), with former NM Governor Susana Martinez as VP...it’ll lead onto another eight year period of GOP presence, and the destruction of Democratic Party (It’ll likely be broken into two to three pieces by 2032).

Only to stir it a bit, but CNN won’t be able to survive to the end of that period, and it’ll be dissolved away.

“Hispanics” went from about 2% of the population to about 20% in less than 30 years. How did that happen?

FYI to everyone...

Almost all of the estimates for 10-12 million illegal immigrants are based on Census Bureau data.

Each year, the Census Bureau sends out 3.5 million “Community” or “Household” surveys - so, more than 1% of the population receives it.

It is actually against the law to not answer the survey fully and truthfully, but I have never read about anyone being prosecuted, so it’s a completely hollow threat.

Anyway, for reasons that are not clear, the Census Bureau data on illegals is considered to be the Gold Standard by just about everyone who studies immigration.

In the last year, however, two academic studies have estimated the illegal population is 50%-100% higher than the Census Bureau estimate, so I’m hopeful we can start to get more accurate numbers in the near future.

Thank you for that report.

It appears that our tax dollars are going to waste on yet another make-work project

Wouldn’t it be a wonder if FedGov only spent $$$ on constitutionally mandated ventures!!

Re: Former NM Governor Susana Martinez as VP.

Good luck with that fantasy.

Martinez is a former Democrat and a certified immigration dove.

Also, about 5 years ago, when Albuquerque held a local election to outlaw abortions in the third trimester, Martinez refused to take a public position and the initiative lost decisively.

From memory, New Mexico Hispanics voted 2-1 against Martinez.

It’s hard to identify any large GOP voting group that would be enthusiastic about Martinez.
