I get the secrecy aspect of national defense but the military works for us. Threatening citizens? F them.
The military has a job to do; if a citizen is in the way, the military is authorized and should do what is necessary to disable that threat. Their first choice will prob not be killing but that would be justified, esp. at a base as secret as Groom Lake.
Then you don’t really “get” the aspect of national defense.
