Yikes. Internal polling shows that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ilhan Omar, two newly elected notable ideological progressives in Congress, are driving the media cycle and image of the Democratic Party. This is bad news for Dems because, as reported by Axios, most swing voters do not approve of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez nor Rep. Omar. Likewise, these same voters also have a mostly negative view of the socialism the left wants in America. These voters do, however, favor capitalism, which has been vilified by members of Congress and Democratic 2020 candidates alike.
According to Axios , the poll was "taken in May, before Speaker Pelosi's latest run-in with AOC and the three other liberal House freshmen known as "The Squad" — included 1,003 likely general-election voters who are white and have two years or less of college education."
The results of the poll showed that "Rep. Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view." Likewise, "Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view."
Plus, "Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%."
The bigger point of all this is if AOC continues to be the focus of the media, then Republicans mgiht have a chance to take back the House. Axios' sources lamented that "socialism was toxic to the people" and that "If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk."

It’s not just AOC and Omar
This could really help Trump win re-election. Many moderate or swing voters, could see that electing a Democrat president and keeping a Democrat House will put idiots such as Ocasio-Cortez in positions of greater power.
Could 2020 end up playing out like 1972 did? Recall in 1972, the radicals of that era took over the Democrat party, and culminated in nominating liberal George McGovern for president. The Nixon landslide was one of the biggest landslides in history. And part of the reason Nixon won such a big landslide was due to voter rejection of the McGovern Democrats of that era.
I wouldn’t expect a 49 state landslide nowadays, but Trump could well win a comfortable re-election if these radical idiots as the face of the Democrat party continue to cause revulsion in “middle America”.
One great tradition is the Party of the POTUS has their National Convention AFTER the opposing Party does.

Which is why, with every effort and with every press release, the Democrats must be painted as the party of AOC and Omar and the other two members of the “Squat”. They are the ones getting all the attention, you rarely hear anything from Durbin; Hoyer.... as long as all the attention is being focused on AOC and Omar and Tlaib, it is an absolutely golden opportunity to paint the Democrats as so radical, socialist, that they will not be satisfied until homeless people are crapping on the sidewalks of every town in America, while your salary and your take-home pay is reduced so you can pay for the health care of illegal immigrants. And pound that messaging over and over and over. It is such an obvious idea, Republicans will never do it.

It may be the reason she felt safe in criticizing the Death Squad now. She was all cozy with them until recently.

I heard that in the next debates, they aren’t going to allow for “yes/no” type questions and raising your hand if you agree with a certain position. The Democrats have decided that the optics of such questioning are so bad, that they have banned the practice.
The irony here, is that such questioning helps educate and clarify for voters as to what candidates stand on issues are. But Democrats seem not to want to educate voters.
Don’t Democrats want voters to know, yes they favor illegal immigration, yes they favor Medicare for all, yes, they favor economic dislocation to fight “climate change”, etc??? Don’t Democrats want voters to know where they stand? What is wrong with the yes/no type of questioning???
