Christian persecution in China, Iran, Syria, etc, etc, etc, ... and to some degree even now in Canada and the UK of all places.
Anything that forms the basis of the free Western world is under attack by radical leftist communists. As in Marxism, anything that represent power (faith in this case) is the enemy. Likewise wealth, freedom, arming, etc are all threats to the communist ideology where the state is God and has all power OVER THE PEOPLE. Nothing new, but always needs restating.
Christendom needs to re-envision itself as a missionary society.
That will clarify for it where it needs to stay or go, and when, and why.
Sometimes wiping the dust off their feet really does make sense. The USA could stand to do more to accommodate such people, perhaps as a waypoint.
