20 acre lot, no other occupants of the residence, etc. The AR with its larger magazine capacity was the right choice for that location.
Smart. It’s amazing how criminals seize on a great idea & twist it.
Indeed, but not all are willing to go that restricted route. Bedside attire plus the pistol and/or carbine, wolf ears muffs, flashlight and the vest hanging over the chair, glasses go on first regardless, then carbine or pistol, then muffs. I am already deaf, so I need to see, shoot then hear in that order. The muffs are nice if time allows, plus they amplify so I can hear if time permits.
Oh, why the vest over the chair? So I have cover, two layers of Tl3A and plates makes for a nice nest.... I would never have time to put it on...
Guess you've never been in a firefight. You won't hear the muzzle blast (or at least won't care) when you are shitting your pants and fighting for your life. Auditory exclusion is real. (as well as "dumping the ballast") Trust me.
Ummm, whether I have or have not been in a firefight has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with my comment. A 5.56 fired in a confined area WILL INDEED cause hearing loss. Neither auditory exclusion nor pants shitting was the point of my post. The fact that you don’t hear the muzzle blast during a defensive situation DOES NOT MEAN that you’ve not incurred damage. My concern was merely the damage caused by the muzzle blast of firing a 5.56 in a confined area and possible ways to mitigate said damage. Sometimes I wonder if half you people even made it through the third grade. Reading comprehension is sorely lacking in some. Happy firefighting and keep on operating operator.
