My concern is looking at the industry as a cash cow and applying all sorts of exorbitant taxes upon it is the same effect as prohibition. It will drive what should be legal commerce back into a violent underground economy, said Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif.
There is broad and deep bipartisan support for the "States Act".
End of Schedule I is really a nothing move that does a whole lot. It would show Government can take their stupid hat off every once in a while.
Legal pot -> more stoners -> more burnout losers -> more Democrat voters.
Looks like we have a new lobby, Big Pot.
More carnage on the highways.
Sigh.
More work for lawyers, most of whom are left-wing Democrats.
It would be one less hook for the government to hold over citizens. Leave it up to the states to decide.
So do you want fedgov imposing prohibition on the the states? What about the Tenth Amendment?
Long overdue. Marijuana should never have been made schedule I in the first place.
“More carnage on the highways.”
That is not what the data says.
they got away with it a hundred years ago and no one will stop them.
It doesn’t matter , Canada legalized it and you hear nothing because no one cares
What, who me? I don't give a crap one way or the other. I'm just saying what's going on. If you like it, power on!
Oh, goody! More potheads (gateway drug to meth, etc.) will be just dandy. More SSDI payouts to the slime who can’t control their urges. Can’t wait.
For your interest.
They need to revise the banking laws to allow the money to be circulated and accounted for. Right now its an all cash business and ripe for abuse and misreporting.
You mean in Canada, I can legally smoke me some LSD and shoot up some pot????
Driving while high is not in and of itself dangerous. Neither is driving on meth. Drunk driving? A much different story.
What gets me is after a 50 year campaign against tobacco, as smoking it or chewing it can cause lung damage, cancer, emphysema, heart disease, etc., etc., no one mentions pot.
So what about smoking marijuana is better for your health?
Well, I know it’s not. But no campaign to warn people.
Can smokers sue?
Insanity
