I’m no fan of Pelosi, but I’ll say this: Unlike AOC, she didn’t just fall off the turnip truck. I think the spat between these two is a classic example of this, if it fully plays out:
“Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance.” David Mamet
Nancy didn’t get where she is by being a nice person.
“Nancy didnt get where she is by being a nice person.”
Agreed. I just wonder how Nancy’s gonna deal with AOC. So far, she seems to be trying to subdue her my making her get more involved in the daily business of Congress instead or photo ops and tweets.
Nancy (along with the other leadership in the House) likely resents that they had to gain their power thru work and effort and not thru one election win like AOC. They see AOC as an usurper and loudmouth who does nothing for them - other than to give the GOP more ammo to use in the next election.
I’m sure that Nancy is open to the idea of primarying AOC in the next election. But doing this is a win-lose proposition for Pelosi. She’ll irritate the Far Left if she does it and like it or not, she needs them. But at the same time, AOC is an albatross hanging around Pelosi’s neck - one she needs to be rid of.
