I advise everyone to read the comments section of the London Telegraph. Hilarious meltdown on all sides of the political spectrum thanks to “Kimbo” and the leaker. Sir Arnold and Sir Humphrey over a glass of sherry couldn’t be more amusing.
Apparently, there are more leaked emails to come which is why he resigned. Or, because Johnson didn’t defend him or something...
The ambassador was probably trying to curry favor with his superiors in taking the time to write down his futile musings, to assure them his thinking was right, and that he was a team player.
