Top U.S. trade officials spoke with their Chinese counterparts Tuesday as Washington and Beijing work to iron out a trade deal.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin spoke to Chinese Vice Premier Liu He and Commerce Minister Zhong Shan "to continue negotiations aimed at resolving the outstanding trade disputes" between the world's two largest economies, according to a U.S. official. The official said "both sides will continue these talks as appropriate."

We had an agreement six months ago.
China welched on that agreement.
Implement, no INCREASE sanctions on the country.
Now.
Chinese collusion alert!!!!!
“...unless there are aspects to this which I don’t get.”
Do you really think we are told even most of what goes on in government?
When and if there is an agreement with China and it is ratified by the Senate you will be able to read the entire agreement.
As for the process leading up to the agreement? You will get nothing but spin from both sides.
It seems that the US will be left out of 5G if we don’t work with Huawei. Our companies are apparently behind on the technology. Somebody told Trump this could be a big blow to our economy - and his re-election hopes - so he backed off of the Huawei ban.
Actually, yes I trusted our side this time.
The lead American negotiator is superb. I was nervous six months ago, despite the fact that he is the single guy I actually trust in the this process. Our side said OK.
That made me nervous, actually.
CHINA then came back, and welched on the entire agreement. Deleted nearly a third of the text.
They deleted text in something like seven separate sections.
That is when I completely bought into our side. Sorry but only, finally then.
So I understand now, that they are completely on our side and doing great.
I just think, it is time to apply more pressure.
We are running the single biggest trade deficit with China right now (by that I am saying last year) that any country has EVER run with any other country, in the entire history of the world.
Ever.
Now is not the time to keep on doing things, the way we are...
I wasn’t suggesting the story of China reneging on the previously agreed elements of the deal was not true.
We get the details of anything happening presented in the most favorable light, good and bad things.
