I believe the girl.
Virginia is very, very believable. To me, especially, because I went through some of what she did. And her reason is very sound. She has a little girl herself now. She wants justice and she wants this power wealthy men have had, to abuse girls, to be visible and shunned.
Apparently none of these girls had a parent. I’m a senior woman and I guess we girls were much smarter way back. By age 12 we already knew the ways of boys/men. And we didn’t even have Facebook or social media.
Those who wanted to grow up early did so. Those who didn’t knew how to say no.
