The Smithsonians National Museum of American History is reportedly interested in obtaining the drawings from migrant children held in detention centers that depict their experiences in the facilities.
The museum has inquired about getting the drawings, CNN reports.
"The museum has a long commitment to telling the complex and complicated history of the United States and to documenting that history as it unfolds," the museum said in a statement to the network,
The Hill reached out to the Smithsonian for comment.
The photos were drawn by children recently detained in U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities and were released by Dr. Sara Goza, the incoming head of American Academy of Pediatrics, in a CBS News interview last week.
The drawings show children behind bars, which Goza told CBS illustrate the scene she saw while touring facilities.
She described children having no expression on their faces, and said there was no laughing, there was no joking, no talking.
"I describe them almost like dog cages with people in each of them," she told CBS. "And the silence was just hard to watch, hard to see."
Her description echoes those of lawmakers who recently toured facilities, and 2020 candidates who peered in above fences.
Lawmakers who had the opportunity to tour the facilities last week said their phones were confiscated beforehand, and they were not allowed to take or release any images from the facilities.
Officials have denied accusations of the unsafe conditions reported by those who toured.
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan said Sunday on ABCs This Week that allegations reported by news outlets alleging children forced into overcrowded, unsanitary facilities are unsubstantiated.
Are they going to ask victims of antifa attacks for their stories and pictures?
Another example of this administration forcing all those people to come here so they could be put in cages.
More BS from the commies.
I would like their pictures of the torturous journey north, and of their impoverished lives in their S-—hole countries down south, and of the rapes that occurred along the way, and of the shelling out of $1000s to crooks for the privilege of experiencing all of the above. Yeah, show that (or show nothing).
Goo goo, gaga. The mentality of these people.

Somebody tell them these are not Americans, they are foreigners who broke into America.
We need these to continue our theme of USA Evil.
We should send them our drawing of homeless Americans in tents!!!
My artist wife, and artist kids say this is not by kids.
My kids’ stuff at a young age is not at all like this.
This is a kid’s brain in an adult body (liberal-progressive).
And if they were located on farms instead, they’d be drawing pictures of farm animals. Consider their environment, idiots.
Someone needs to slap some sense into these public employees.
Indeed media prodding and direction them fake news on the march.
And these were the pictures drawn by the 17 year olds, imagine what the 7 year olds would draw
Pictures of the street they came f ry om for comparison. They are getting free everything, including a vacation.. Citizens children are not.
It is very efficient of the Smithsonian to ask for these. Usually, a museum waits for events to occur, waits a while longer, and then collects artifacts and data describing those events, which have become historic. Then the museum reinterprets the historic record to suit the current sociopolitical winds. This leads to opposition by those poor dumb fools that think history is immutable. By selectively asking for current artifacts and data that already support the current winds and calling them historic, they cut out the cost of time, reinterpretation, and eliminate the need to explain why some poor fools think history has been corrupted.
Brilliant!
How about drawings of the many innocent American citizens raped and killed or turned into drug addled zombies by “Dreamers’, cartel dope peddlers, and other illegal invaders?
Just to balance the propaganda scale a little bit!
And, how about drawings from black children, and OTHER American children, whose parents jobs have been taken by these illegal INVADERS??
The only prisons people are climbing over fences to get into.
Guarantee they’ll filter out the drawings of their stuffed teddy bears given to them by Senators or the healthy hot meals they get or watching Sesame Street on a big tv wearing new clothes and obama shoes in a nice air conditioned cheerily painted room. All the Smithsonian will display are the “created” drawings of concentration camps.
