A group of Arizona police officers were asked to leave a Starbucks coffee shop on July 4 after a customer complained to staff that she didnt feel safe with them being there, reports say.
Five cops from the Tempe Police Department were drinking at a branch of the coffee chain in the city when they were approached by a barista and told that a customer had made a complaint about their presence.
The worker is said to have told them to either move out of the complaining customers line of sight or leave the premises entirely, the Tempe Officers Association claimed in a series of tweets.
President of the union, Rob Ferraro, believes the treatment the officers were subjected to is an unfortunate sign of the times.
Its become accepted to not trust or to see police and think that were not here to serve you, Ferraro told FOX 10.

In my entire life I have only ever had one cup of Starbucks coffee, and that’s because my Brother bought it for me.
(he owns stock in the company)
The coffee tasted like shit and I really can’t stand their “hippy” vibe.

If Ca is so great why did they leave? Because the Texas governor enticed them and their businesses to leave? I personally have no idea. You're the one who made the comment. Or maybe you should ask the guy who told ya that.

One of the cops should have spoken to the offending, er, offended customer outside. Perhaps a ride downtown in the back of the car was in order. Only someone doing something wrong is going to be that nervous around the police.

I have a standing agreement with my coffee shop that if a policeman or a soldier comes in while I am there, I pick up the tab after they leave.

I’m sure MS-13 will protect the Starbucks store. It will only cost 60 bucks per week per customer.

Hard to believe this happened in Arizona.
Bad things involving Arizona police officers have occurred lately. Mesa police were involved in the highly publicized shooting deaths of unarmed persons Daniel Shaver and Ivan Krstic [sic]. Shaver was killed while handcuffed and covered by several officers who had long guns trained on him. Officers in both instances were acquitted by juries. The shooter of Shaver, Officer Brailsford, was fired and has reportedly stopped the process of seeking reinstatement of his job.
Last week, in another highly publicized incident, members of a family were accused of shoplifting in Phoenix.
Officers responded and were shown on body camera handcuffing one of the family members, kicking his feet out from under him and throwing him to the ground. A child with the family group was also accused of shoplifting. The incident was not caught on police body cameras. The officers were caught on camera pointing weapons at the mother, obviously expecting, and the children. One officer is reported by witnesses to have shouted at the mother, "I could have shot you in front of your ******* kids!" The officers were not wearing any, in violation of city policy. The incident was caught on camera by another person. The police chief has apologized to the family for the manner of violence and profanity and threats to shoot the handcuffed man in the presence of their four-year-old daughter. (The daughter is the one who carried the doll out of the store.)
So the five officers kicked out of Starbucks are, unfortunately, operating in an atmosphere tainted by an atmosphere created by at least three incidents in which police officers threatened citizens with deadly violence. It has not been metropolitan Phoenix law enforcement's finest hours lately.
