Open Your Eyes. The Planet’s Not Dying (At Least Not Here in America.)

In a way, I can’t blame those who grew up in the Cold War for being pessimistic about the future. We lived then in an age of potential nuclear annihilation and Hollywood made sure that we knew about what would happen if it occurred. The studios rolled out film after film of post-apocalyptic dystopian worlds from Planet of the Apes to Soylent Green. These films were usually shot in vast desert areas in foreign countries because the truth is that America is still very, very beautiful.

I recently returned from a road trip to Florida and marveled at the lushness along highway I-95. Huge 40-foot trees lined the way in North and South Carolina then Georgia. Flowering plants grew wildly behind these mammoth giants of nature. Grassy plains spread far and wide along the Virginia route as cattle grazed behind the fences.

I happen to live in the greenest borough of New York City: Staten Island. We have tons of parks, 3 golf courses and the best tasting tap water in the country. In the center of the island we have Moses Mountain, a testament to the efforts of conservationists who rallied again the construction of an expanded highway that would cut through the Green belt. Due to local opposition, this section was never completed. The mound of rock and soil remained where it was and came to be known as Moses Mountain after Robert F. Moses, the City Parks Commissioner and head of the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, who had planned the parkway in the first place. Today Moses Mountain is well covered with a variety of trees and other vegetation. What started as barren rock and loose soil is now a wooded ecosystem that more resembles Vermont than NYC

The generation that grew up during the cold war also grew up when "existential anxiety" and nihilism permeated cinema. As faith in Christ was erased, a vacuum was created.

And, as everybody knows, a vacuum doesn't exist for long. Something will fill its place.

The dirtiest and most polluted place I have ever been was Denpasar in Bali.
The resort areas are very nice but Denpasar is unbelievable.

CO2 is not a dangerous pollutant.
It is necessary for plant life.
Plant life is necessary for human life.

I've been watching a series from the BBC called The Planets and episode 3 Venus - The Hell Planet spends most of the episode describing what a horrible place Venus is then concludes that in another billion years we will be exactly like it, maybe even worse. Brian Cox, the presenter, does an excellent job explaining the inevitability of our demise. So enjoy it while you can.

I grew up during the Cold war and saw all the movies you described. Never for a moment did I believe the end was near, or even in sight.

The ones living in fear back then where the parents and grandparents of kids like me. They we’re building air raid shelters and telling us in school to hide under our desks if a nuke was dropped (we lived just 5 miles from NYC). We just did what they said then went out to recess for a fast game of dodgeball.

The 50s were indeed the golden years.

Earth is full of CARBON BASED LIFE FORMS. It stands to reason that more CO2 means more life, like DUH.

The reason we hear a never-ending warning of the dire condition of our existence is that politicians, in the words of H. L. Menckin, are constantly creating a new crisis so they can step in an “save us from it”. Plus, we all know that bad news sells “newspapers”. The media always makes more money when they are telling us what is going to kill us.

I should know. Alar was supposed to kill me more than 40 years ago. As the book of Ecclesiastes observes:

What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done again, and there is nothing new under the sun.

I totally agree with this.

Here's something for perspective:

I live in Connecticut, which is the 4th most densely populated state in the United States.

I live in Fairfield County, which is the most densely populated county of Connecticut (which we have already established is the 4th most densely populated state).

So you would probably think that based on the above facts, that I live an an urban wasteland, a concrete jungle teeming with pollution, noise and crime.

Well if you thought that, you'd be wrong!

I am typing this from my back deck, overlooking several hundred acres of undeveloped forest with a gently flowing brook gurgling a meandering path just a hundred feet away. I see nothing but wildlife here and the only manmade noise I usually hear is the occasional faint rumble of a jetliner passing overhead (about 20,000 feet) out of JFK and on its way to some European of Asian city thousands of miles away. (I know this through my PlaneFinder app).

In fact, in the most populous country in the 4th most densely populated state, I am surrounded with thousands and thousands of acres of untouched woodlands that I have only just begun to explore. When I commute to work, I pass through miles and miles of woods, farms, rolling hills and uncountable number of brooks, creeks, ponds and rivers.

At the other extreme, I have been in places like Maine or the high desert of Southern California where I am surrounded by untouched nature and literally the only human being for miles around.

We are blessed to live in a vast nation with virtually unlimited natural resources and beauty.

The biggest danger on my 25 mile commute is not traffic but deer which may dart out of the dense woods on either side of the roadway. Visitors to our plant marvel about the beauty of SW Pennsylvania. Just don’t try to drive in here at 3 pm shift change.

Documented Acts of Climate Terrorism via fake news!

How much money are these Climate Terrorists getting Paid by George SoreA$$, to lie about Gorebull warming?

“You don't capitulate to young voters because they have been brainwashed into believing that mankind is driving a climate 'crisis,'” said Marc Morano. “You lead and reveal to them that what they think they know just ain't so.”

Thanks to Hot Hunt and others for the above realities versus the end of humans due to Gorebull Warming BS Predictions!

Folks, we have, at the very least- 1007 more years to go on earth- likely many 100’s or 1000’s years more- but at the very least- that’s what we have left- The world will go through 7 years of tribulation, then it will go through 1000 year reign of Christ on earth- then we get a new heaven a new earth- perfect- unblemished by sin-

So folks, relax- there’s a long long time left to go! The climate isn’t going to destroy everything- not even close-

80 degrees. Low humidity. It’s a beautiful day. Gentle breeze. Lots of fruit on the trees. Got a view that would stun you. If this is the world that the climate alarmists predicted, I’ll take it.
