Here’s my suggestion. Reason.com should take the time to interview some of the thousands of American workers who lost their jobs when their factories moved to China. That would perhaps provide a little balance to the article.
Picking up on what you wrote, it is absolutely heart breading to pass through town after town and see how things have deteriorated due to industries and mostly small business moving or just gone out of business.
People NEED to work - there is dignity in work and providing for your children. Most people are not lazy. But they need hope, maybe a little help or guidance.
Believe me, there is nothing more destructive that having a feeling of despair. It is a very, very hard thing to see.
