President Trump is considering an executive order to try to move forward with a citizenship question on the 2020 census, top sources tell Jonathan Swan and me.
"We didn’t come this far just to throw in the towel," said a senior administration official with direct knowledge of the conversations.
Former federal judge J. Michael Luttig, who has longtime ties to officials in the administration, told Axios:
"If the president of the United States were to issue an executive order, supported by his full Article II powers, directing that the citizenship question be included in the 2020 census, I believe the Supreme Court would affirm the constitutional power of the president to include the citizenship question in the census.”

I think Connecticut might flip in 2020. The tolls are getting people mad, so I think you might see the state go Trump and maybe the state Senate and House will be R flip, too.
Assuming the census bureau would not make up a number to estimate the number of people who were not counted.
It can’t hurt to try, pull the trigger. The article makes an excellent point about letting Chief Justice Roberts bear the brunt of this...clearly Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch & Cavanaugh will have no problem with it.

I think it was on Judge Jeanine’s show that a border agent said 20+ million. Even when 11 million was being reported, it was more at that time.

I live in the People’s Republic of Maryland where although 17 of 23 counties voted for Trump in 2016, the six other counties with most of the population won the State for Hitlery. No Census forms will be completed at my address.
