HASLET, Texas A teenager is honoring his friend with a Fourth of July tribute, hoping to share his memory in a big way.
Cameron James, who lives near Fort Worth, Texas, told KTVT the flag he mowed at his familys home is to show support for one of his best friends from the Boy Scouts, Kevin Christian.
According to The Associated Press, the 21-year-old soldier died June 23.
He was just a really good friend and
a role model for me, James said. So I really wanted to make sure that he was, like, missed by even the people who didnt even know him.

Kaepernick outraged.
Nice.

This is a young man of character.
This is what all Americans should be like.
A thoughtful gesture. I hope it’s a comfort to the young man and to others who knew his friend.
Outstanding. A great gesture and a true friend.
Nice. the source is the AP, meaning there has to be a LIBERAL / anti American angle in all of this and the friend was a member of the Boy Scouts.
The young man committed suicide while deployed on the US/Mexico border.
When I read that, my dyslexia kicked in and I read "Teen mows lawn in flag..." I guess I was all set to be outraged because I thought it would look like this guy pushing a lawn mower.
I still remember when making clothing out of the US flag was a SERIOUS breach of protocol and never seriously considered. Sigh...the good old days.
Was it suicide or was he helped along? With Hillary Clinton still running around. When I read suicide, I become leery.
Some of the rat morons are pleading to Trump not to destroy the pavement with the tanks. The idiots don’t realize that they are being transported on flatbeds.
No idea. A link from the source article said two soldiers killed themselves.
I still don’t know what it’s talking about.
The piece I read was just a couple of paragraphs, no detail. It’s very sad. The way this article was phrased, it seemed clear it wasn’t a war casualty. It would have been better if it were an auto accident!
That is pretty cool.
I agree.
Happy Fourth of July.
Thank you, you too! My Marine daughter is going to Australia for maneuvers, and I’m somewhat concerned about her driving a Humvee on the wrong side of the road.
Speaking from personal experience for a newbie to the left side of the road, whatever you do, DON’T fly non-stop San Fran to the UK and get all jet-lagged, rent a car at the airport, and make a right turn at a stop sign at an intersection. It was a real come-to-Jesus moment, I tell you.
After a good night’s sleep, you get the hang of it. I would have felt a lot safer in a huge Humvee instead of the little econocar I had.
