Not necessarily. A policeman as a soldier can disobey an order that he finds unlawful.

Not interceding on behalf of an innocent citizen being brutally beaten in fear for his life is a crime and therefor must be disregarded.

As I said, in general, the police aren’t the problem.

But, as you pointed out, there is plenty to be angry at them over, and plenty for which they are responsible.

What specific law is being broken by the police in this incident? The courts have ruled repeatedly that they have no duty whatsoever to act.

The job of the police is to protect the government, not the citizens.
