Not really. A single 67-ton Tiger II could hold up a dozen Sherman tanks, and often did.

Could a Tiger II hold up a thousand Shermans? Because for every over-engineered unreliable POS Tiger II built, there were a thousand highly mobile and reliable Shermans built.

Besides, our tanks were not designed to go head to head with other tanks. Tank doctrine in WW2 was that tanks were designed to support infantry. It was the tank destroyers like the Wolverine and the Hellcat that were designed take on enemy tanks.

Oops. Hundred. Not thousand. There were a hundred Shermans for each Tiger II.
