I think you have to strike a delicate balance here: Enough gators to ensure that they all stay hungry and threatening, but not so many that the illegals can walk across their backs to get to the other side.

Imagine the US Fish and Wildlife service pulling in with a truck by the Rio Grand and stocking the river with gators. Just the mental picture makes me smile. A sign saying don’t swim unless your fast as Tarzan. ROTFLMAO

This shouldn't be viewed in either/or context. Louisiana and Florida have plenty of the toothy critters - ship 'em to the Rio Grande.
