Back in those days, whites were largely opposed to busing. And there was not consensus in the black community that busing was beneficial.

Busing failed because people voted with their feet. Significant numbers of whites either moved out of the school districts which had busing, or put their children in private schools. The end result was that there weren’t enough white students left in some schools to produce meaningful integration.

Off topic, but, it looks like little Kamala already had that bitch face look as a little girl. Was that really the best picture they had for her “I was that little girl” campaign?

I’d call it the Kamala Harris school busing LIE.

What Rush Limbaugh describes is what I remember bussing to be, that they were taking white kids from better neighborhoods and bussing them into less afluent neighborhoods. I thought Kamala Harris was lying when she said she was bussed. Knowing what I know of kids who were bussed, I would bet on it. She is just another democrat making up a lie to make her look good and others look bad.

To paraphrase George Costanza:

It’s not a Lie if Democrat Voters believe it.

The Brown in the landmark Supreme Court case, Brown v. Board of Education, was Linda Brown (1943-2018) of Topeka, Kansas. Supposedly her parents were upset because she was being sent to a more distant all-black school instead of being allowed to attend the nearby white school.

According to her Wikipedia biography, though, her parents thought that the all-black school she was attending was fine, and only decided to get involved in the lawsuit (Linda Brown wasn't the only child involved) because they wanted to help the cause of integration.

Ironically, busing turned into a system of sending kids to distant schools instead of letting them go to the neighborhood school.
