I don’t understand are they swaying people’s minds for who they would vote for or are they actually changing votes cast?

Changing people's minds by returning information they want you to see from their searches, and burying/not returning information contrary to what they want you to see. People trust these companies, and most don't know that search engine results are filtered through Google's political filters, so they trust the search results far more than they should.

Some people treat Google like the Bible, and that’s a problem.

So it’s all about biased search engines? Hell, I knew they were biased just like wiki years ago! that’s why the make duck duck and dogpile along with others.

This is the key - the material omitted is often more important information that people should be aware of than the material allowed.

I hope there is something to be done about this.
