Certainly the headline is wrong, but the article may not be. It says that Christiana Brown, Great Grandmother ? of Kamala Harris, was a descendant of Hamilton Brown, a slave owner. The numbers of generation between Christiana and Hamiliton is not stated.
Barack Obama was a descendant of slave owners, as are most people with southern roots, both black and white. I suspect that Jamaica genealogy would tell the same tale.
The more important genealogy fact is that Kamala is the daughter of a Communist and she is also a Communist. It runs in the family, just like Barack Obama.
