CNN: Winners and losers from night 2 of the 1st Democratic debate (Fake news take on Rat clown show)
CNN ^ | June 27, 2019 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 06/27/2019 11:10:15 PM PDT by Zakeet

I watched all two hours, tweeted and took some notes. My thoughts on the best -- and the worst -- of the night that was is below.

WINNERS

*Kamala Harris: The California Senator gave the strongest performance not just of Thursday night's debate but of either nights' debate. She was calm, poised, knowledgeable and, yes, presidential.

* Pete Buttigieg: If you knew nothing about Buttigieg going into Thursday night, you would have assumed from his performance that a) he was a senator or a governor who had been at this for a long time and b) a co-frontrunner with Harris in the race. That person would be stunned to learn that Buttigieg is currently the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and running at the back of the lead pack. He was serious, smart, thoughtful and probing.

LOSERS

*Joe Biden: Well, that went poorly. From the get-go, Biden seemed too rigidly attached to his stump speech and his talking points. He struggled to fit his points into the 60-second time limit. ... When Biden was asked what his first act as president would be, he said it would be to defeat Donald Trump.

* Bernie Sanders: The Vermont senator learned a tough lesson Thursday night: Debating nine people as one of the frontrunners for the nomination is a very different beast than debating a single, establishment frontrunner when you are the freewheeling insurgent. Rather than passionate, Sanders came off as just plain loud. Rather than committed, he came across as repetitive.

CNN's take on who won and lost the first night of the Rat Clown Show

THEIR WINNERS

* Julián Castro -- Rad lib pulled lots of air time

* Elizabeth Warren -- The Fake Indian was "the straw that stirs the drink in the debate"

* Cory Booker -- Loudmouth lib "found a way to inject himself into most of the conversations during the night"

THEIR LOSERS

* Beto O'Rourke -- "Hard to watch" ... needs to go back to his guru and eat more dirt

* Democrat Party -- When the highlight of the night is a hot mike picking up a couple of air jockeys talking about how they need to pee, you got problems

Personally, I missed both debacles doing far more important things -- I can't remember what they were.

I'm sure many of you Freepers have your own thoughts on the big blow. I'd love to hear your opinions

/Zak

ROTLOL - Wow, still the gaffe-master.

I guess Biden would phone Margaret Thatcher right after that.

The winner was my 11 year old grand daughter pitching tonight in a 12-U tournament game. Pitched all 5 innings, 4 KO’s 3 swinging, 5 pitcher to 1B putouts, one booming double over the CF’s head. Team won 4-3 bottom of fifth. Oh on the way over she said she didn't want to pitch but play first base tonight. Go figure.
After the game she said if President Trump invites her to the WH, she will go

I think Chris wrote this story last week. Didn’t matter what happened at the debate.

[[CNN: Winners and losers from night 2 of the 1st Democratic debate]]

The winner, singular, was me- didn’t watch it! Not in the habit of watching bold-faced liars who hate America, Hate Jews, Hate Christians, pandering to low information people in the audience, promising them the moon in order to get elected, while laughing on the inside knowing they will never deliver-

I wish he would invite her. She deserves the trip more than most of the buttheads. She’s a jewel and deserves a visit.

Nice. There’s ONE sports trip to the WH I could actually endorse!

Tulsi Gabbard/Andrew Yang are young, fresh, diverse but not identity politics obsessed and the only two figures who could potentially siphon off votes from Trump supporters due their willingness to embrace pillars of Trump’s original platform: namely military non- interventionism and the need to protect blue collar America.

If either of them don’t take off now now then maybe next election cycle. Gabbard in particular.

Of the establishment: Warren is the strongest. And both her and Harris over Biden.

Bernie’s too... old. I don’t see Pete Buttigieg going further either.

Losers = The American public due to the fact we still have Democrat politicians.

Winners = The American public that has voted for Trump, or not even, because we still have him as President.

I did not watch the debate, but from my check-in to see what Twitter was publishing on the subject, they were quite clearly desperately pushing Harris. That line about food on the table couldn’t have been less scripted than the coverage of it.

Gabbard backed Bernie Sanders in 2016, and Yang is a global basic income (GBI) nutbag. The entirety of the Regressive ‘RAT field is hard core Socialist, not even “Democratic” Socialist, whatever that means.

They NEVER actually deliver but ALWAYS have their voters nonetheless.

“After the game she said if President Trump invites her to the WH, she will go.”

That’s precious. Only 11, and she’s got it figured out better than many of those raking in millions a year. How sweet if PDJT were to her!

I took the opportunity to change the air in my truck tires and top off the blinker fluid. Had been putting those off.
