An associate professor of an unimportant subject at an insignificant school. Brings to mind a phrase I ran across decades ago in The American Spectator: parvenu bumptiousness. Parvenu is a person of obscure origin who has gained wealth, influence, or celebrity. While bumptiousness being presumptuously, obtusely, and often noisily self-assertive. It’s kind of sad that the only way this little nonentity of a man can desperately try to draw attention to himself is to write something so boorish and offensive.
