My grandmother shot* a black man at her door at 2am drunk at wrong door pounding to get in

1987 Jackson Miss and she was 80 and had likely been into some Evan Williams as was her wont

She had my grandfathers old 1911 in .38 Super...

She fired at his foot and he fainted ....she decided not to kill him last moment when she suspected he was drunk

Jackson’s first ever black gold badge detective lived next door and heard the shot and ran over to help her drag the body inside were he deceased so it’d be legal

He survived.

I bought Charlie the detective a gallon of Dewars his preferred whisky the next day

She carried that pistol everywhere

And slept with it

I have it now
