One HAS to wonder why President Trump has not militarized OUR border?

A reminder from the estimable Sidney Powell (full piece and links worthwhile):

“Congress, Speaker Pelosi, the Democrats, Mitch McConnell, and the RINOs passed a bill that completely sold out American citizens and hardworking taxpayers—all middle and lower-income America—and crammed it down the President’s throat. An inner circle of people in the White House do not share the MAGA agenda and either mislead the President or flat-out lied to him about it all. And, the National Emergency Declaration won’t fix it.

The bill they crammed through aids and abets the Mexican criminal cartels, boosting their billion-dollar-business by multi-millions of dollars a month. It’s a neon sign inviting human-traffickers and other criminals to grab children and pour into the United States. It is worse than amnesty.

That is why tens of thousands more people with children are pouring into this country every day—and being released immediately. Not only did the bill cut the number of beds for detention, it provides—unbelievably—that if the invaders qualify in the broad language below—and tens of thousands do, they can NOT BE DETAINED OR DEPORTED. Section 224(a) provides that “None of the funds provided by this Act or any other Act . . . may be used by the Secretary of Homeland Security to place in detention, remove, refer for a decision whether to initiate removal proceedings, or initiate removal proceedings against a sponsor, potential sponsor, or member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor of an unaccompanied alien child . . .”

Others tried to warn us. This provision is unconscionable, insidious, and outright criminal. It should be challenged by the Department of Justice as contrary to the criminal laws and national security of the United States. This bill should never have been signed, but since it has been, there are few alternatives left to the President to save the United States of America.

One, as I have written previously, is for the President to issue an executive order to stop all immigration, with whatever exceptions he deems appropriate, in the national interest for 180 days and renew it as needed. It would not affect non-immigrant visas. The authority rests in 8 U.S.C. 1182f, and the Supreme Court affirmed it recently in Trump v. Hawaii. Other presidents have done it. If some deem this a “nuclear option,” so be it. We’re out of options.

At a minimum, the President should stop all immigration coming from all countries south of us including South America. This is done by simple executive order, and there is more than ample evidence it is imperative to our national interest. We are drowning. Children are being abused and “recycled” by the thousands. Women are being raped, and all who make the perilous journey are at the mercy of the cartels. Americans are beyond fed up.”

We should be drafting liberals to fill those needs. Make them go down there and deal with what they support.

But then, we conservatives should be getting drafted into the militia and sent down to keep them out; fair’s fair!

I’m at the “show me” stage on the invasion. Dems suck, got it, now work around them. Show something effective, not a tweet of wall pictures. At least get enforcement of E-Verify, you’d think the executive would have that authority under current law.

Re: “Show something effective, not a Tweet of Wall pictures. At least get enforcement of E-Verify, you’d think the Executive would have that authority under current law.”

It does - but Trump is never going to use it.

The statutory authority for Universal E-Verify was created by the Reagan Amnesty (IRCA) in 1986.

Since then, E-Verify has established a pristine legal record of agency regulations, Executive Orders, and court challenges.

The most recent legal success was in the Supreme Court, which confirmed that individual states have the authority to impose E-Verify on private businesses.

About 20 states have passed E-Verify related legislation.

However, I never read or hear anything about it, so I have no idea if they are actually enforcing their own laws, or if they are just watching this catastrophe unfold like the federal government is.

I don't believe that.

Trump is capable of doing his own research and making his own decisions.

He signed the bill because he agreed with it.

He hired those people because he agrees with them.

You apparently haven’t done your own research to become very well informed. Trump is not a big reader, that was a massive spending bill, and he has had staff undermining him from the start.

If he actually wanted to undermine his stated position on immigration and the border like that that is not good at all.

BTW Trump sent out a tweet in praise of Powell just in the last couple of weeks, after she was named Mike Flynn’s new attorney.

Trump was a liberal before he was a conservative and his liberal daughter is one of his advisers. He's stringing this debacle out to campaign on it just as 2016. When he's re elected we'll see his brazenly liberal side.

It's going to be jorge busho part deux. We've been had, again. And there's not going to be any reprieve. Trump was it.

This sh*t is why Trump should have closed the border when he said he was going to close the border, and why he should have started the mass deportations when he said he was going to start him. His shuffling back and forth is sending the mixed messages that encourage all these people to come up here.

(To his credit, of course, the tariff threat brought Mexico to the table damn fast.)

PING!

If they turn Florida bleu, they will get the government they deserve, just like back in ol’ Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, the other Floridians will suffer as well.

I am not familiar with Sidney Powell or her political position on any issue, except for the link you provided.

In any event, the legislation that grants special treatment to immigrant families and unaccompanied children was passed while Barack Obama was president.

The DOJ “consent decree” regarding how long immigrant women and children can be held in detention was actually written in 1997 under Bill Clinton.

The bill Trump signed was a budget. It does reduce funds for various kinds of immigrant housing and detention facilities, but it has had NO impact on Trump's immigration policy.

Under Trump - since his FIRST day in office - more than 80% of illegal immigrants get “Catch and Release” after crossing the border.

Once in the USA, an illegal immigrant has only 1%-2% chance of being caught and deported.

George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump all have, or had, the exact same immigration policy.

Re: George Bush Part Two

I agree, and I started making the exact same prediction in early 2018 on Free Republic.

Although I voted for Trump in 2016 and will vote to reelect him in 2020, I have never believed a word he said about immigration, federal spending, or budget deficits.

If Trump is reelected, he will give the DACA kids and millions of other illegal immigrants some kind of legal status in 2021 - in exchange for some kind of immigration restrictions that will never be enforced.

Win or lose, Trump will be the last Republican President in American history.

Going for Operation Wetback 2.

Who is going for Operation Weback 2?

I don’t see any movement or desire to do this.

Trump could order the Army to patrol the border.

So what?
Don’t you think he knows he could?
But he isn’t...

To taxman:

Read the law. It's law passed by Congress giving the POTUS the authority to unilaterally forbid immigrants/invaders entry into America.

8 U.S.C. s 1152(a)(1)

From the above: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

Congress gave the President the power to forbid entry into the USA of any immigrant according to the above law.

He also has the power to order troops to the border, as he has already done. He has ordered troops to the border, but only in a impotent capacity. If he can order ten soldiers, he can order 10,000 soldiers. If he can order 10,000 soldiers, he can order them to be armed and have some teeth. He just has to do it. He can prevent anymore incursions onto American soil. If he'll just do it.

The fed judge hacks have countermanded some things, but they cannot stop him from performing the above.

Meanwhile, millions, MILLIONS of these crimigrants have come across our border, under his watch, when he was fully able to stop it.

Don't say he's not able to do it. He already did it with the travel ban. Consider the following:

U.S. Supreme Court upholds Donald Trump’s travel ban By Miriam Valverde on Tuesday, June 26th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld President Donald Trump's third attempt to ban the entry of individuals from certain countries, affirming his executive authority to restrict immigration to the United States.

In a June 26 5-4 decision, the court held that "the President has lawfully exercised the broad discretion granted to him under §1182(f) to suspend the entry of aliens into the United States."

The court said that federal law entrusts to the president with decisions related to the entry of individuals: whether and when to suspend entry, whose entry to suspend, for how long and on what conditions.

The president need only determine "that the entry of the covered aliens 'would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.' The president has undoubtedly fulfilled that requirement here," the court said.

Let us work to re-elect President Trump because we KNOW what the Democrats will do!

I am not convinced that President Trump will do as you speculate that he will.

Let’s re-elect him and then see what transpires.

I don’t believe that Trump will be the last Republican President, and I don’t believe he will throw Real Americans under the bus!

After he is re-elected, I believe he will come down really hard on illegal aliens and force them to leave the USA!
