A South Bend, Indiana police union on Monday criticized Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s (D) handling of a recent police shooting in the city, saying his focus is predicated “solely for his political gain.”
Last week, Buttigieg was forced to temporarily leave his 2020 presidential campaign trail to hold what was a tense town hall with the South Bend police chief Scott Ruszkowski after an officer fatally shot Eric Logan, a 54-year-old African-American man who was allegedly breaking into vehicles with a knife.
In a blistering letter shared to Facebook, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #36 stated Buttigeieg’s response to the shooting about boosting his candidacy for the White House, “not the health of the city he serves.”

Peter Breath is nuttier than a fruitcake if he thinks he can be President no less run.
This incident could put major brakes on Buttigieg’s campaign. The TV images of outraged constituents do him no good. Being gay is not enough help.
This reminds me of a truly obnoxious ex neighbor. I heard him approach a black couple in their 50s or so,also neighbors here.
He wanted to pump them up to vote Dem. (Almost word for word memory of this.)
“You’re voting Democrat, right?”
“Well we vote for the right candidates based on who they are. Not always Democrats.”
“But as black people you always vote Democrat, don’t you.”
“Not always. We usually do but it depends on the person and the things they stand for.”
“But after all the Democratic Party has done for blacks you should always vote straight Democrat.”
“Not always. We vote for the ones we agree with.”

Mayor Pete puts up his arm, turns around and says “Hey, everybody who’s with me let’s charge!” Turns back again and sees no one following.
We’ve seen very little factual investigation of what actually happened. One thing we know — in cities like that, the cops need to use body cameras — for their own protection.

Looks like Butt Gig is getting the shaft.
If Biden wins the nomination and he picks mayor Pete as his running mate,their campaign slogan could be Butt/Plugs 2020
