The election of 2020 hinges in part on how well President Trump has done on illegal immigration. So far, I consider the job unsatisfactory. Just my opinion.
blah blah blah....i’m sick of it and getting more sick of Trump daily. It’s time he steps up to the plate and swings away.
Unfortunately, he’s willing to hide behind the “Congress won’t let me do anything right now” rhetoric. Every so often we get some tough talk to keep the base happy, but otherwise paltry measures overall. He seems more than happy to ride this strategy all the way to a possible re-election in 2020. Will he be successful?

Like I’ve said before ( like anybody gives a hoot) I love Trump and I’ll vote for him in 20 but after this latest delay on rounding up the illegals there better be a full blown effort in solving this problem. I don’t care about taking care of the “ cheeldrun” of the invaders. My give a damn is busted. His support will erode if we don’t get results on the illegal alien crisis and some indictments with arrests.

Read the law. It's law passed by Congress giving the POTUS the authority to unilaterally forbid immigrants/invaders entry into America.

From the above: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."
Congress gave the President the power to forbid entry into the USA of any immigrant according to the above law.
He also has the power to order troops to the border, as he has done. He has already ordered troops to the border, but only in a impotent capacity. If he can order ten soldiers, he can order 10,000 soldiers. If he can order 10,000 soldiers, he can order them to be armed and have some teeth. He just has to do it. He can prevent anymore incursions onto American soil. If he'll just do it.

The court said that federal law entrusts to the president with decisions related to the entry of individuals: whether and when to suspend entry, whose entry to suspend, for how long and on what conditions.
The president need only determine "that the entry of the covered aliens 'would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.' The president has undoubtedly fulfilled that requirement here," the court said.

So you do realize that every time Trump tries to get funding for the border, he gets sued by a liberal judge who puts in a TRO, right? He did get funding through the military budget but a judge stopped the funding. Dems try to stop the wall at every turn, even the wall funded by Americans using a Go Fund Me page. Congress has not only done nothing. They have undermined what POTUS has done. McConnell encouraged POTUS to declare a national emergency and then sat on his hands as the GOP controlled Senate stabbed POTUS in the back. There is no more bipartisan issue inside the beltway than open borders.
Drink the Koolaid? You sound like a Democrat. The GOP has lied to us for 30 years about wanting a secure border. While handing out Teddy Bears to wetbacks at the border, etc. But POTUS is the problem. No doubt.
K, here is the problem. I believe everything in your post to be true. However, like before if he issues an order, a Constitutionally appropriate order to close the border we both know within 2 yrs a judge will issue an injunction. There will be 25 more judges waiting in the wings to order similar injunctions to accomplish the same thing, to stop Trump and they will come up with any misinterpretation of a law they can. Hell, they may even make up the law as long as it ties up execution of Trump’s orders.
Trump has accomplished more in 2.5 yrs as far as getting Mexico involved and making what I consider long term progress than any and all of past president’s combined.
You just look at a paragraph of law and say. “it’s easy, just do this” as if the slime balls on the left and their judges will sit by and say oh snap Trump beat us, oh well!

Trump’s greatest accomplishment to date has been ripping the facade off the Left including the media and showing all of America what they are really all about.
If Mexico takes care of their southern border as they are doing and continues to help on the northern border the problem of illegal IMMIGRATION on the border ends. Mexico is terrified of tariffs and will cooperate or face the consequences. They know Trump is not bluffing.
Congress passed that law. It gives the POTUS the power to uphold the law, at his discretion. SCOTUS affirmed that interpretation.
The low level federal hacks countermanding POTUS' rulings do so concerning treatment of wetbacks once they get onto US soil. Trump can prevent them from stepping foot on US soil. Big difference.
