One of the reasons why the Flynn legal situation is so interesting is not really because of Flynn himself; but rather because the Flynn situation is a likely example of President Obamas surveillance network in operation.
Tenuous legal theories (Logan Act) and obscure laws (technical FARA violations) appear to have been exploited by DOJ administration officials, in close ideological alignment with the Lawfare Group. In association with overall Obama administration officials, the fellow travelers used the legal system to create a DC surveillance network.
At the 30,000 ft. level Obamas surveillance network looks like this:
White House identifies a target; passes request to the DOJ National Security Division; who then use the auspices of possible FARA violations to pass the instructions to the FBI contractors; who data-mine the NSA database.
The FBI results are then passed back to DOJ-NSD; who weaponize the information for FISA applications (becomes legal cover); and pass the authorized surveillance (spying) results back to the White House etc.
Its a circle of surveillance activity that could encompass almost every politician in Washington DC as they network with foreign lobbyists and special interests.
Techno Fog was the first person to identify FARA violations as the tenuous legal basis for the DOJ-NSD to gain FISC authorized surveillance warrants. It makes sense.
Those warrants then permit surveillance and the unwitting targets can infect anyone they come into contact with.
Using this process unwitting targets would be carrying surveillance like an ebola virus, and the Obama administration would be monitoring almost everyone in Washington DC.
Throughout the weaponized process theres an element of plausible deniability, and a tenuous legal justification to protect the participants. If questioned the first line of defense would be to assert National Security; and almost all of the activity would be considered classified.

Interesting? And also "high crimes".
Holy Cow!
It seems as though the “Frankenstein’s monster” the deep state created has returned to burn down their castle.
bkmk
If the defense can establish that the accused/convicted was the target of illegal surveillance (See Bill of Righrs, Forth Amendment) the accusation/conviction cannot stand up to a Supreme Court review. And Gen Flynn would go free. Conviction has to be "clean". Illegal surveillance will dirty the conviction so badly that they will see his rights were violated and he goes free. Hope this helps.
Let the unmaskings begin!

YES! Exposed em ALL.
No matter who is hurt.

Karmas a biotch!
What ValJar said about Its OUR turn now!
The constitution was written in plain language. It was not meant to require special knowledge or translation to be applied.
What you describe is contrary to the intent of the founding fathers, they had learned to hate the special treatment of the “monarchist” and effete elite.
First shot across the bow?
Holy Cow?
Will it be a dead cow?
Do we now know why hundreds of people were routinely unmasked, because there was basically a surveillance machine built up by the Obama administration?
Those hundreds of names that were unmasked by Susan Rice and Samantha Power can't be explained by incidental recordings from George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, as I doubt they engage with that many people in the course of their lives.
It had to be that they were surveilling everyone, and they unmasked anyone who sounded interesting to them.

Obama was out to get Flynn because Flynn is a man of integrity
This would certainly be an interesting development. Let’s hope the dam breaks in our lifetimes.
I have no clue what I’m reading as I’m reading something like this. I depend on...to translate it for me...
And that is EXACTLY how our lawyers, judges and politicians want it!
Our Declaration of Independence spoke of this...
That any of them are still free to spout lies and cover their tracks is as big an injustice as their original crimes.
Come on, General Barr, as we say in poker, $^&% or get off the pot!

Powell needs to get on this.
The execrable Susan Rice's email sent to herself on Trump's inauguration day---just hours before she was scheduled to leave purported to document part of the strange meeting Obama held.
As Obama's top security aide, Rice was nervous about the fact that, at the presidents direction, she had failed
to share information fully as it relates to Russia with President Trumps incoming national security team........
NOTE: Rice was being replaced by Gen Flynn.
Her actions violated longstanding American tradition. Outgoing administrations have always cooperated in the transition to a new administration, whether of the same or the opposing party, especially on matters relating to national security.
Susan Rice is far from the brightest bulb on the tree, but she was well aware that by concealing facts ostensibly relating to national security from her counterpart in the new administrationGeneral Michael Flynnshe was, at a minimum, violating longstanding civic norms.
If she actually lied to Flynn, she could have been accused of much worse. So Rice wanted to be able to retrieve her email, if she found herself in a sticky situation, and tell the world that she hid relevant facts about Russia from the new administration on Barack Obamas orders.
What were the secrets that Obama wanted to keep from the new Trump administration?
We can easily surmise that
<><>the Steele memo was paid for by the Democratic Party;
<><>that the FBI had to some degree collaborated with Steele;
<><>that the Clinton campaign had fed some of the fake news in the dossier to Steele;
<><>that Comeys FBI had used Steeles fabrications as the basis for FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign.
These were among the facts that Obama and his minions didnt want Michael Flynn and Donald Trump to know. Susan Rice, we can infer, was told to keep these secrets, and if anyone ever asked why she had failed to disclose them to Michael Flynn and others on Trumps team, or even lied to those people, she would have the defense that President Obama ordered her to do it.
There may be more to it than this. The redacted paragraph likely contains more information about what it was that Rice wasnt supposed to tell the Trump team. One of these days, we will learn what was blacked out.
The fact that Michael Flynn was Susan Rices counterpart in the incoming administration may also be significant. We know that the FBI agents who interviewed General Flynneven Peter Strzok!reported that they didnt think he had lied about anything.
And yet, Obamas DOJ and Bob Muellers investigationbasically a continuation of Obamas corrupt Department of Justice under another, less accountable namepersecuted Flynn to the point where he finally pled guilty to a single count of lying to the FBI in order, as he says, to end the madness and the financial drain.
Why were the Democrats so determined to discredit General Flynn? Perhaps because they wanted to pre-empt any outrage that may otherwise have followed on revelations that the Obama administrations National Security Advisor hid important facts from Gen Flynn, her successor, during the transition, and may have lied to him about those facts, in violation of all American tradition.
