A report authored by a former high-ranking Pentagon official has warned that the U.S. risks losing its military advantage to the Chinese because of Beijing’s long-term plans for its armed forces. The report is written by Robert Work, the former deputy defense secretary, and Greg Grant, former special assistant to Work.

“The Chinese People’s Liberation Army has been patiently stalking the U.S. military for two decades… It has studied the preferred American way of war and devised a strategy to exploit its weaknesses and offset its strengths — particularly its military-technological strengths… [China] appears increasingly close to achieving technological parity with U.S. operational systems and has a plan to achieve technological superiority,” the report states (The Washington Post)

America badly, needs to stop buying everything from China.

Re-industrialize America. President Trump, lead the way on this.

Before it is too late.

Just steal everything is pretty much the perfect counter to a country that relies on hi tech for its military strategy. We should just pull back to focusing on the basics so we can start stealing from them instead. As a bonus we don’t have as bloated a military budget.

We need to get back to winners and losers in this country. ,

No more " everybody is special" awards. no more " snowflakes are people too".

Get back to classrooms being for those there to learn, not to see how many you can pass along for state monies based on number of students who show up.

Its time to stop celebrating diversity and start celebrating real academic achievements.

Stop wasting time talking which gender you want to be when you grow up and go back to what do you want to be when you grow up as in which profession you want to persue. The dumest thing my teacher ever told me was " use your words". all it ever did was piss me and the kid I wanted to hit off. We usually just found a more private place to " discuss".. our issues

Totally agree.

But, many decades of unified efforts by leftists has gotten us here, and we now have several well-indoctrinated generations of left-thinking, SJW snowflakes (60’s college students to Millenials).

It will take many years, unified conservative work and much reprogramming to recover. Can we?

There is no doubt that the US must be respectfully aware of China's rush toward global dominance. With their new found wealth, industrial strength, and strategic goals, they could be a formidable enemy. They also, though, have a socialist structure. As have all socialist countries in the past, they will eventually fall into the inevitable cauldron of corruption and failure.

The biggest threat to the US, is not China, but it is our own path toward Socialist failure. With our vast majority of newly minted school graduates preferring Socialism over free choice, our greatest enemy lies within, not from without.

I do not know.

Socialism won’t work in America. We are a bunch of independent, rabble-rousers.

But don’t be too dismissive of the system in some cultures.

It is currently very strong, some places.

I won’t say it is winning. But I also think our own system, is being weakened by the current set-up, and China is being made ever-stronger.

We need to produce things, once again, and STOP buying everything from China.

Now.

Just watching a Chinese army e-tool demonstration video should give one pause. The contention is that the Chinese grow athletes from the get-go, we grow slothful youth.

"Socialism won’t work in America. We are a bunch of independent, rabble-rousers."

Of course not. It hasn't worked anywhere, for long. The problem is that schools are no longer turning out the "independent, rabble-rousers" that vote it out. They're turning out the weak-kneed snowflakes that vote it in.

Was that link in the article.
I agree with their assessment of our youth.
We had some outdoor games Easter Saturday and almot 90 percent of the kids just weren’t able to physically play them. They can’t sweat either.
I was shocked.

They also, though, have a socialist structure.

I would liken it more closely to classical fascism.

“I would liken it more closely to classical fascism. ”

You are correct. And it is the reason for their success of the last few decades and will be the reason for their collapse from within.

I hear the Chinese military has a version of General Tso’s chicken currently unavailable to U.S. forces. Time to send ballistic-missile subs up the Yangtze!

The mainland Chinese are not Americans.

Their entire society is very regimented, all the way from the government, to families.

Everyone has a place. They understand their place, and respect it.

They are not uncomfortable with that. We are. They are fine with it.

Do not imagine otherwise. Besides in other ways, their society is far less restrictive than our own. Traffic is very free-flowing and wild. Police are not as active, as in our country. As long as they do not challenge the government, in which case the response will be strong.

We are societally very different.

We do not expect the same, or respond the same.

Typical reliance on technology arguments so that even a pessimistic scenario presumes the American way of war.

To quote the victor of WW II, “quantity has a quality all its own”.

China has technology, but also has the mass to back it up, and we do not. Our actual choices are rearmament or appeasement.

The 2018 US Defense Budget was 700 Billion, or thereabouts. The Chinese defense budget in US Dollars was 175 billion.

At the link below, you can see a “simple” breakdown of the US Defense Budget.

I just used my iPhone calculator and it tells me the US Budget is 4 TIMES Chinas in US Dollars. Where’s the risk other that the Democratic Party?
