Why would Trump waste his time giving Congress 2 weeks to fix loopholes when they have done nothing but drag their feet for years? Does he really expect anything to get done?

Perhaps he realized the raids had been compromised by the leaks and pulled the plug. Media would be positioned at every site to broadcast the gestapo Ice Units destroying innocent immigrant families real time. a public relations nightmare.
Perhaps was all a head fake to shine light on the cockroaches in his enforcement departments. Also it makes him look cooperative and reasoned while being willing to work with the dems for a solution. He announced the intention to deport, now he can strike at any time without further warning. With the public word out perhaps some will self deport and possibly not risk the illegal entry in the first place. I can’t see how he loses anything by this delay.

I am training myself to resist my initial reaction and wait to see developments before reacting. I have no idea about this guy. I will read and learn before forming an opinion.
This will sink president Trump if he doesn’t correct it. We are very serious about securing the border. That’s why he is president this vacillating to get people who have final deportation orders -whatever it’s phony and weak.
He loses time. Every day he waits is one less day he is in office, is one more day the Dems and NeverTrumpers have to put up with him. Why do you think the Dems have been bringing up collusion even when they know there isn't a chance it will go anywhere? It's one more day he talks about no collusion instead of talking about building a wall or enforcing our borders. It's always been about running out the clock.
