President Donald Trump has said that he is delaying planned enforcement actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to remove thousands of illegal immigrants.
'At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border. If not, Deportations start!' Trump said in a tweet on Saturday afternoon.
Enforcement raids had been scheduled to begin at dawn on Sunday in at least 10 major cities, drawing furious protests from local Democrat officials who vowed to fight the deportations.
Trump had been adamant that the raids would go forward as recently as Saturday morning, and his stunning reversal on the ICE raids comes amid a tumultuous week in which it was revealed that he pulled back on a planned strike against Iran at the last minute after learning the casualty projections.

I could just about see it coming. Why on Earth would be let it be known? I’ll bet there was massive surveillance on suspect bank accounts, pre-movement, travel arrangements.

I’m beginning to believe that the newly-minted coastal elitist never-Trumper Ann Coulter is right: he’s huckstering us w.r.t. the border. Either that, or he’s simply weak and pathetic in this regard.
If it were me, I would go forward with the raids. If Trump thinks Congress will get together to come up with a solution during this delay, he has another think coming. Only massive raids, with authorization of use of deadly force if necessary, will bring these idiots to the table. And maybe a treason trial and public hanging (if convicted) in front of the Oakland City Hall for that city’s dumb mayor as well.
