Gov. Greg Abbott announced Friday that the state will deploy 1,000 troops from the Texas National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border to aid the federal government with border security efforts.
“There is an escalating crisis at the border — a crisis Congress is refusing to fix,” said Abbott, who was flanked by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, along with Brig. Gen. Tracy Norris, the adjutant general of the Texas National Guard, during a news conference at the Texas Capitol.

I thought Mexico magically stopped the flow of illegals hence Trump not hitting them with sanctions? I’d say hit them with the 25% sanctions till there is more illegals crossing back into Mexico than coming in.

Too little too late. So much damage has been done that we may never recover the destruction. We will never remove the 30 million illegals and that is one hell of a percent of the legal citizens in America.

What NEEDS doing NOW is reinstituting the old US Commissioner program, appointing retired military officers as Commissioners on a temporary basis (until the surge of cases ends) & allowing the new Commissioners to hear deportation cases.
The USA has a real shortage of immigration judges to hear these cases & (imo) the appointment of US Commissioners could dispose of most of the cases quickly/efficiently/cheaply.

Hey did they give yall any ammo or weapons for every squad member? Last time I was with NG in the south, only the squad leader was armed with a loaded weapon and only one M16.
Hell, we were better equipped then they were but those lads would certainly give them illegals a good chase through the brush, unarmed.

Most of these jobs are support jobs that just free up border patrol personnel. Pushing paper, maintaining vehicles, monitoring cameras. Not armed.
I just hope the Build The Wall group will keep on building in the meantime.
This is an invasion, and we need our soldiers to guard the border day and night. The country will not last if we lose all common sense. Protect the border!
