A Climate Bill Sets Off Tumult (in Oregon): Republicans Flee, Police Follow
New York Times ^ | June 20, 2019 | Timothy Williams

Tensions boiled over in the Oregon Capitol this week as Republican state senators vanished in an effort to delay a vote on a climate change bill they oppose. On Thursday, Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, ordered the state police to find them and bring them back.

It was only the latest chapter in a season of partisan division and frustration in the nation’s statehouses, where, for the first time in more than a century, all but one state legislature is dominated by a single party. In Oregon, where Democrats dominate both chambers, Republicans were unapologetic about their efforts to slow the state’s adoption of an emissions-reduction program by disappearing — and keeping the Democrats from having enough lawmakers present to call a vote.

Brian Boquist, one of the Republican senators who went missing, issued what sounded like a warning to any police officer who might try to arrest him.

“Send bachelors and come heavily armed,” Mr. Boquist said he told Travis Hampton, superintendent of the Oregon State Police. “I’m not going to be a political prisoner in the state of Oregon. It’s just that simple.”

It was the second time in six weeks that Oregon Republicans have walked out of a session to try to prevent a vote. This week, all 11 Senate Republicans left, holding the Democrats short of a 20-person quorum needed to vote on the climate change bill, fiercely opposed by Republicans.

Across the country this year, legislatures like Oregon’s, dominated by Democrats, have veered to the left, pushing through bills on issues like abortion rights, health care and limits to rent increases for tenants. Legislatures controlled by Republicans have moved firmly to the right, pushing through sharp restrictions on abortion access and permissions for schoolteachers to be armed.

Seems like a case of “irreconcilable differences”. How about a friendly divorce?

Yes! We need it now more then ever. Rural Oregonians are starting to speak up, stand up, and fight. Enough is enough!

Too bad the media didn’t cover the huge 10 mile long truck convoy that went to Salem. It was impressive, but Kate Brown turned a deaf ear on them, on us.

Good morning. We’ve already had a Kansas/Missouri border skirmish or five.

While I agree that the sun has a far greater impact, I also think man may be contributing to the extreme conditions. But, not from CO2. Based on Quinn Michael’s research, there is a world wide effort to en-cycle the globe with nodes running spectrotrons (small nuclear accelerators) and quantum computers networked together by sending neutrino through the earth. (reference this video for one potential site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iby_uV5RC6E).

So I believe nuclear reactors/accelerators are the primary cause of the earth heating up and the powers that be created the CO2 narrative to mask their evil plan to rule the world through strong AI.

Every day, large reactors like the two at Diablo Canyon, California, individually dump about 1.25 billion gallons of water into the ocean at temperatures up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the natural environment.
As of April 2018, there are 449 operable power reactors in the world.
1.25 * 449 = 561,25 billion gals per day

Nuclear is a heat engine. The heat released from nuclear increases water vapor a potent greenhouse gas responsible for 60% of recent warming.

Add 30,000 nuclear accelerators along with the mega data centers popping up all over the place and you begin to get an idea of the scope.

I sent a few emails to Bill Nye the science guy (a fake phony and a fraud) and ask him what the impact of nuclear tech on the climate and never got a response.

This is something we should be talking about.

It sounds like Princess Little Katie Brown can’t wait for socialism to replace capitalism. Boy, is the princess in for a big surprise.

Why are the police even involved?

Did the Republicans break a law?

You know, I kind of have a different take on Oregon. For a long time, Oregon Republicans have been like a rickety dam stemming the tide of liberalism. The Dems appeal to the radical left, but even the corporatist Dems know that the radical left is looney, so they use the Republicans as a scapegoat, saying “we can’t give you all this radical stuff because the Republicans won’t approve it”, when even they know it’s a bad idea.

I say, let the dam break. Give the left all of their crazy ideas. Let them run Oregon into the ground. If you’ve been to Portland, the city isn’t worth saving. Let it go the way of Detroit.

Yes but it is the socialist pukes that vote these people into
office, numbers speak, Americans are no longer the majority in
many states and Oregon is one of them.

You are probably right but here is one that is not, I am 82
and I will vote against anything remotly resembling socialism,
which seem to be almost every thing including young people who should
have had their ass,s put to work and kept out of the socialist colleges.

“We have often noticed that in the tabular statements of those compilers of weather records who right for the Times, useful and welcome as their communications are, every season is sure to be “extraordinary,” almost every month one of the driest or wettest, or windiest, coldest or hottest, ever known. Much observation, which ought to correct a tendency to exaggerate, seems in some minds to have rather a tendency to increase it. And many seem now to regard three dry hot years in succession as betokening some general change of climate, as if it was not perfectly certain, in the wide range of the table of what we call chances, that with our existing conditions of climate such a combination must every now and then recur.” -The Queenslander, January 21, 1871.
