Oil is fungible. We are still hostage to the price of oil if something happens in the Middle East. The cost goes up for everyone, not just the other guy.
Sure, prices goes up for all of us... but our factories keep humming. China lives closer to the line - they’ll go under. Under with many European countries.
Looks like Merkel getting a line to Russian energy was a good idea for Germany. Of course that takes time.
My point is this is an ideal time for us to sit back and let others COME TO US FOR OUR HELP AGAINST IRAN. We’re in the cat-bird seat. Yes, a war with Iran is in our future but lining up allies during this critical period will make all the difference.

But this month a compromise deal on pipeline rules was forged by Germany and France, which should allow the scheme to proceed.
