I am 59. I am continually amazed at the scum that has ascended to elected office in this country. Whenever I become convinced that it cannot get worse - it subsequently does. And this happens almost daily.
As to Nadler and his ilk... stereotypes do not arise out of thin air.

They are recruited and owned by the Swamp. They wouldn’t have ascended that high if they weren’t scum to begin with.
That’s why a president like Trump had to have come from the outside.
Like endless waves of sewage hitting the beach .
I’m nine years older than you. Like you, I remember a time when governance was a serious business in this country. The people who put the world back together after WW II and managed through the Cold War were very serious and both parties generally had the best interests of the US at heart. No longer.
They require humans of the lowest common denominator to perform a job that requires lying to their colleagues, the media and their constituents on a regular basis.
They are not required to have intelligence or leadership skills. They are sucking off the taxpayers' collective teats. They are legal con men. They are dishonest at best and outright thieves at worst.
They are usually ranked below their fellow shysters, used car salesmen, as the least trustworthy profession.
It's been this way as far back as there were politicians.
I was listening to Rush in the car one day not long ago and he was also lamenting the lack of quality in our elected officials. He said he was literally depressed at how so many of them were simply bad players whose primary goals were to get rich and powerful themselves, without any regard for policies or their voters.
They're in it for themselves. Many are in it as a career. Get in, get rich and then get out. Set for life.
The big question is, has the scum ascended, or has the scum always been there and it just can’t be hidden.
My take? The GOP hasn’t changed, the dems have gone straight to hell. Today’s dems are not the dems of the past.
Remember when in your youth you were comforted in the knowledge that the world was run by adults.
Maturity happened when you realized how the world was really run. 'Ratz still don't.

The Democrats are utterly shameless. The Uniparty Republicans are often not much better.
But it seems the Democrats are very good at mining scum for public office (no insult to scum by comparing it to Nadler).
