K–12: Red Ed
American Thinker ^ | June 20, 2019 | Bruce Deitrick Price

If you want to understand the mystery of why we spend so many billions of dollars and get crummy schools, here are some options. You can read a hundred books. You can spend many years earning a Ph.D. in history. You can try to bribe the director of the CIA — or consult a psychic. Alas, you probably won't find the truth.

I suggest you spring for the lazy-man, two-word explanation: Red Ed.

Arguably, that's what we've got. The almost comical thing about the U.S. is that most people persist in believing that the top educators are harmless, nice, pleasant, typical Americans. But the field of education has been a whirlpool or cesspool of socialist-communist-collectivist thinking for more than 120 years. Throughout that time, these subversives operated covertly but belligerently. They were the tireless termites in our basement.

If you want to understand how all these influences flowed through our society, read Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, and remember that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton idolized Alinsky. Consider that almost every American attended public schools created by people like these three radicals. Arrogant and manipulative — that's the type.

A copy was given to me by the husband of a fellow patient at my dialysis center. Wonderful fellow. He was relieved to meet a young person (I was 21) who wasn’t a gullible boob. That was a fascinating and necessary read.

"Education in a free society means exclusively “private” education. We are never free as long as we are subjected to compulsory government education shored up by threats, penalties, fines, and taxes—to any degree or at any level. This is, of course, not to deny the prime importance, and even necessity, of education, but in education, as in all areas of life, the primary issue is sovereignty: who has legitimate control, legitimate command?

To the extent that civil government has control, it will force us to comply with its standards and dictates, and, to that extent, we are not free individuals."

We’re not free as long as someone else tells us what to do and forces us to do it how they want us to do it, and then forces us to pay for it. Apart from God alone, no person or agency has that level of authority—and the person or institution that usurps that position assumes the role of God in that area of life. his applies to our individual liberties, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, etc., but it also applies to education as much as anything else."

Restoring America One County at a Time - Joel McDurmon

Worth reading, the chapter on education is, well, educational.

Agree with the premise you make here... In most if not all states a Department of Education has been establish with enumerated control and measurement of what passes today as “Public Education”

In many states in order to form an alternative educational institute the Governing Body (Dept of Ed) controls the funding path and can in some cases stipulate hiring practices (Union/non Union) and other limitations that inhibit any competition. In short they can choke them off and especially prevent any form of curriculum which even has a whisper of faith in them

They are known to me and Bruce collectively as The Edutocracy, and they are most definitely part of the plan to dumb down the populace. This then extends into the post secondary level (so called College/University) that is wall to wall infected with idealogical bent and leftist professors who exercise thought control and lower grades or fail those who do not toe the mark. Play the game and think and write like them and you are OK>
Further, in the accreditation system a final level of control is exercised to punish those who rock the boat and dare to teach outside the establish dictums (see Oberlin college and others)
I totally agree and concur with what some states are contemplating, we give you a voucher for what we would pay another system with what is know n the biz as ADA (Average Daily Allowance) or The butts in seats fee. One would think that a course of action would be dereliction of duty for agencies who are charged at that level to insure that all who perform at a [passing level with real; and measurable skills (not using common core or other measures) competence to be a functioning member of society. As another Freeper eloquently opined it is all part of the plan to dumb down the electorate into a group who does not have critical thinking skills and is prone to acceptance of what they are allowed to do as long as they “vote the ticket”
In closing they are criminals., otherwise would graduating 75% of any demographic who is functionally illiterate be acceptable. They are in my view in violation of their sworn and enumerated duty to give our younger generation to be ready to move forward in life versus becoming Trojan Horses prone to voting for Democratic Crutches to cover for the deviant nature of how they are cared for.

In short, they are in my mind plain and simple Bastards of life and totally bought into who give a flip about them I got paid culture.

May God have mercy on their souls for what they are doing to destroy our Country, One mind at a time!

Exactly! I live in AZ - Used to work for the AZ Dept of Edu - it's only about the bodies in the seats to ensure that the most $ from the fed can be had.

It's all about the bodies: how many can be killed before they are born, how many can be programmed after and how many will be become part of the 'mob' once programmed.

This is how we get groups like antifa and those wonderful 1% wall streeter's.
Good info.
