At least she made it home before being cremated
My niece and her husband just got back from there. Still alive, so far.
Don’t they all seem to die of/with fluid on the lungs?
She did break.
Could it be mold in the air conditioning units?
You couldn’t pay me enough to go there now.
I dont think they are all from the same resort. Are they?
Tragedy.
A shame she bought into the myth that the Third Worlders are no different than we are in the big human family of peace and harmony and goodwill.
Like the American hiking tourist couple who were tricked into stepping on some dirt a foot inside Iran by a soldier and then spent months in cruel prison conditions and threat of death as accused spies. Stupid. Almost fatally so.
Now everybody wake up from the dream and stay here and defend our borders from the invaders.
what’s to see there aside from death?
Wouldn’t how many have died and we are not aware of what happened to them?
Very odd. . .only Americans dying.
It is obvious, but unremarked by the media, that Americans were targeted.
A healthy individual in my church came down with pneumonia and fluid around his heart shortly after knee replacements. Could be a staph-like germ.
Is this the one who died of complications from botched plastic surgery?
Mold?
Like a previously unknown “Legionnaire’s Disease” bug? Maybe... I’m not a virologist.
But, remember that some of the people who have survived bad experiences there have had instant reactions after drinks in their rooms. And, there was a Jimmy Buffett fan group, of which 47 people (of 115, IIRC) got dog-sick. All of them claimed that the thing that the sick had in common was drinking at a pool bar (which wouldn’t be an air conditioning problem).
Fortunately, this is above my pay grade, and I don’t have any trips booked to the DR to worry about right now.
Don’t go to D.R.
Something in the alcohol (minibars).
Very odd. . .only Americans dying.
I haven’t followed this closely enough to know whether tourists from other countries are also dying from unusual causes.
The DR isn’t on my list of places I’d like to visit, but I’d scratch it off for the immediate future if it were.
Three of the Americans died at the Bahia Principe resort in La Romana within days of each other. Two died at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana.
