Maybe so but from what I’ve read the Beto thing
was from his father when he was a small child.
Nothing he adopted for himself.
Beto is the short from the name Roberto. With
his name being Robert his father thought the
locals would call him Beto anyway. So he started
calling Robert that early on when he was a
child and hadn’t started to school yet..
