I would add an extremely weak GOP as part of the problem. In NY, there are any number of opportunities to start making a comeback, yet the GOP is MIA and unable to take advantage.
imprisoned in place.
I love Arizona. The summer heat keeps the relatives away.
In other news, decent states in America are seeing their morals, values and ethics undermined by a recent influx of undesirable liberal types from rabid socialist states like Kalifornia, Illinois, New York............
Maybe its because of the socialist societal parasites trying to enslave the masses.
Illinois is full of illegals. This article mentions a net decrease in population but does indicate how many native Illinoisans left and were replaced by illegals. Entire towns are spanish speaking now.
NO! It's hell. It's 150 in the shade, there are rattlesnakes EVERYWHERE, and the scorpions are the size of Chihuahuas.
I hear Texas is nice.
“....In NY, there are any number of opportunities to start making a comeback, yet the GOP is MIA ....”
Just my observation but the New York GOP seems to be a lot like the Pennsylvania GOP. The public impression is one of a party of old corrupt particularly some of the long (way too long!) serving legislators. All completely void of energy let alone ideas. The only thing that makes them the least bit attractive to vote for is that the Rats are much worse. However if a Rat comes along without much of a track record has a attractive look & personality he’ll beat a GOP’er.
NO! It’s hell. It’s 150 in the shade...
Yeah, but it’s a dry heat. Kinda like Venus. :)
We still live in Illinois because my wife is a semi-invalid, and she is very comfortable with her doctors here. She does not want to move, in large part because a physical move would likely kill her or put her on a fast slide toward it.
However, if she dies before I do I’ll be out of here in a matter of weeks after her passing.
you know, we can't all just jump up and move somewhere else......and then the question, where to move to......everyplace has got its downside.....everyplace....
I live in a nice area but we are run by rats.....property taxes are oppressive but no income tax, "yet".....
but family is instate and I still work....we have a nice place on 5 acres.....so where do I run?.....I can't really run except maybe over the border to Idaho which puts me that much farther away from the family.....
so nobody blames you for not moving.....a lot of folks are in that position...
That's the worst kind.
My son owns his own business there that is making him a very comfortable multi-millionaire. He ain’t leaving either - until he sells the business...
I grew up in eastern Washington, texas, Oklahoma and Vallejo California. I learned to really love the desert. And yeah, I’ve come across my share of rattlesnakes on my mountain bike. The good news is that they are not as dangerous as most people think.
My brother in law saw a large scorpion on his bedroom wall when they first moved to Phoenix. He was about to squish it and his neighbor told him to catch it and take it outside first. So, they did. They put it in the middle of the street and squished it - and a ton of little baby scorpions scattered. ;)
If the taxes are high then why arent they spending on education and infrastructure?
It’s the government, stupid!
