The United States Prevention Services Task Force has given a grade A recommendation that private insurers must, by law, pay for PrEP without any deductibles, co-pays, or co-insurance costs falling on the consumer.
The move is groundbreaking in that it will help motivate those most at-risk to start practicing PrEP, a prevention strategy that when used as directed makes it virtually impossible to contract HIV.
According to the Affordable Care Act, which is the current law of the land, users of grade A and B recommended strategies should not be asked for co-payments or other cost sharing. As a result, the new recommendation from the Task Force is likely to influence insurance companies to fall in line with the health bill's instruction.

Just one more reason Obamacare needs to be jettisoned.
So...it is a known fact that having unprotected anal sex easily facilitates the transmission of HIV.
So...instead of telling people they shouldn’t have anal sex or shoot themselves up with dirty needles, WE are required to PAY our HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS so they can continue to practice expensive and often suicidal behavior which they KNOW is risky?
The United States Preventive Services Task Force was created in 1984.
All it accomplishes is the encouragement of perverted sex without consequence. I do not think freedom to f%&k without consequence is one of our inalienable rights.
I really do believe this country’s best days are behind us.
I’m afraid thay gay anal sex and dirty needles are protected activities in the constitution.
While we are not making sense:
I want everyone to buy me ammo or I’ll shoot myself in the head.
Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis:
anti-HIV medications taken in advance
Of course, relying on chemicals instead of condoms may make those chemicals useless in the coming years.
I really do believe this countrys best days are behind us.
Without insurance, the drug apparently costs $1300/month. Gilead stands to make a killing by a drastically expanded customer base, probably including many people who don’t need it but will because it’s free to them.
I don’t care if adults choose to engage in unsafe sexual practices with other adults, gay, straight, or wearing a unicorn suit. I don’t care if insurance covers drugs that make that activity slightly less unsafe.
I do care that a panel of anonymous bureaucrats unelected and unaccountable to anyone is able to write a memo carrying the effect of legislation with legal penalties being brought against violators and enforced by federal law enforcement. That’s the practice that must end. It this is a decision worthy of carrying the weight of law, let Congress vote on it and the president sign it. If the public disagrees, they can seek redress at the ballot box.
But given expanded powers under O-Care.
Then the gradual approval of homosexuality culminating with the Roberts SCOTUS ruling in 2015 saying homos can marry.
Now, we have the transgender nonsense.
Next will be pedophilia.
After that, I don't want to think what could happen.
PrEP has reinvigorated "barebacking" (homo-"sex" without a condom) to new levels of popularity because of the false security promised. Now, all manner of other drug-resistant STI's can spread, including gonorrhea and syphilis.
I believe fine red wine prevents heart attacks.
I recommend they add it to their recommended free stuff list, stat.
Travel also keeps me healthy. Italy, Switzerland, rural Japan and French wine country await.
I bet it costs less than a penny a pill to make it. Of course the lobbiest and bribes cost a pretty penny.
Also the year the APA was politically strong-armed into removing homosexuality from the DSM as a mental disorder.
I think back to that year of my innocent childhood which was sheltered from the reality of these events. A lot of moral capital still stood - homosexuality was still considered immoral by nearly all school districts, churches and popular entertainment media. I'm glad my parents sheltered me further in the culture.
Unfortunately, I had to agree.
I’m not happy about it, either.
That's not the full picture, though. R&D costs are sunk early in the development process and probably run in the millions. It takes a lot of work to combat the problem caused by militant, demanding fags.
And the FCC filtered TV, too.
